Constantine Returns to TV with a Special Appearance on ‘Arrow’

This isn’t quite the revival that “Constantine” fans were hoping for, but it’s still a welcomed surprise.  It would appear that John Constantine can survive the worst fate of all: television cancellation.

The CW and actor Matt Ryan revealed today that Ryan would be reprising his role as John Constantine from the NBC show “Constantine” for a guest appearance on the CW show “Arrow.”  And you won’t have to wait long for the guest appearance either. Matt Ryan is slated to appear in the fifth episode of the upcoming fourth season.  The fifth episode will be aptly titled “Haunted” and will see the Green Arrow thrust into a supernatural situation where he’s in dire need of Constantine’s particular set of skills.

So could this lead to a new “Constantine” show on the CW? That still seems rather unlikely at this point as the network is already filled to capacity with superhero shows.  However, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Constantine make multiple appearances throughout those various superhero shows.  As a bonus I’ve included a brief clip from Ryan announcing his return to the character.
