Morgan Creek Will NOT Remake ‘The Exorcist’

Morgan Creek is out there and they’re listening to you people. Last week we saw the early rumors that Morgan Creek could possibly be interested in remaking “The Exorcist.”  To no one’s surprise this caused quite the uproar, but now it looks like we might not have anything to worry about.

Today Morgan Creek was out doing damage control on their Twitter account by reassuring people that they had no intention of remaking “The Exorcist.” The very first person to receive the news was “Exorcist” director William Friedkin.

@WilliamFriedkin Despite what was printed, we can assure you we would NEVER EVER attempt to remake The Exorcist.

So in a world of constant horror remakes, it’s nice to see someone finally backing off of the idea.  However, I wonder if this means we might get a new “Exorcist” sequel? I mean they did specifically say remake… Well, we’ll have to see what happens from here. For now, let’s just enjoy the fact that an “Exorcist” remake is off the table again.
