Fred Dekker Has Completed Work on the ‘Predator 4’ Script

We haven’t heard much about the new “Predator” film since it was initially revealed way back in the summer of 2014.  At the time it was revealed that director Shane Black (“Iron Man 3”) was re-teaming with his “Monster Squad” co-writer Fred Dekker to put together a new “Predator” film.

Well Dekker has revealed on his Facebook page today that he has completed work on “Predator 4” and turned in the script.  Of course, that doesn’t mean production will kick off right away, but it’s a good sign that things are just about ready to get started.

As for the film itself we don’t know much about it, obviously, but we do know that Black wants it to be a sequel to the already established films and not a reboot of the franchise.  Given that Arnold Schwarzenegger has been revisiting his older franchises I have to wonder if they’ve considered finally doing a Dutch vs Predator rematch film.  I recall one of the earlier ideas for “Predator 2” was to have Dutch take on a Predator in a city engulfed by a blizzard.  That’d still be a pretty rad concept, but I’m not entirely sure I’d want to see old man Arnold fight a Predator.

Okay, maybe I do.
