‘Brave New Jersey’ Explores the ‘War of the Worlds’ Radio Hoax

Chris Savage

Am I right in thinking that no-one has ever made a movie regarding the War of the Worlds radio hoax? Surely someone has, haven’t they? Well, apparently not, but it appears as if that is being rectified as Jody Lambert is bringing one of the most infamous hoax’s to the big-screen via Brave New Jersey, and we have your first look, details (including a killer cast) and information regarding how you can help.

SynopsisBRAVE NEW JERSEY is a comedy about one of the most infamous hoaxes in history — Orson Welles’ 1938 “War of The Worlds” radio broadcast, which fooled millions into believing America was being invaded by Martians.

As the citizens of one small New Jersey town are faced with what they think is their last night on Earth, their lives will change forever. What do you do when you think you have one night to live? What happens the next day when you learn it was all a hoax? It’s an end-of-the-world alien invasion movie where the world doesn’t end and the aliens never show up.

The film stars Tony Hale, Heather Burns, Anna Camp, Dan Bakkedahl, Mel Rodriguez, and Sam Jaeger.

At this time they have taken to Kickstarter to help with post-production, as the film has finished filming, and they need your help to just bring everything together and to make it as great as they possibly can. So, if this does interest you, hit up the link above and see how you can help, as always, perks are up for grabs.

As you can see in the photos below, this one looks like they have really put in a lot of work as it looks freakin’ awesome, authentic and just really polished. We’ll keep you guys posted on this one if this is something you’re interested in?

There was another movie about this topic, can’t remember the name but I saw it on ABC when I was a younger. Gonna say it was in the 70’s probably, and I believe it was like what they called Movie Of The Week. Glad they are doing a new one, great topic!
