Crewmember Dies on the Set of ‘Resident Evil: The Final Chapter’

I don’t know what’s going on on the “Resident Evil” set, but the film has just suffered another tragic accident during it’s production. This time resulting in the death of a crewmember.

Earlier this year stuntwoman Olivia Jackson was involved in a horrific accident on the “Resident Evil” set that degloved her face (don’t look up what that means if you’re squeamish) and now may result in the amputation of one of her arms.  And now we’ve learned of a second tragic accident.

Website IOL is reporting that on December 3 crewmember Ricardo Cornelius was crushed to death on the set of “Resident Evil.”  Apparently a US army issue hummer fell on top of him with such force that his lungs were crushed flat.

The full IOL report is really heartbreaking as they reveal that Ricardo had only been married for 9 months, was unemployed for a year before landing this job, and was due to celebrate his birthday this month.

This is a tragic and horrific thing to happen to people who only want to entertain the masses.  It seems strange to think that people are risking life and limb so that we can have a few hours of entertainment, but it is a real risk these people are undertaking and it mostly goes unnoticed until it goes very wrong.

We send our thoughts out to Ricardo’s loved ones.
