Well, Franck Khalfoun’s Amityville: The Awakening has had a few misfires. The film, believe it or not, was initially set for a release on January 2, 2015, then it got pushed back to April 15, 2016 and now its moved slightly closer for a April 1, 2016 release date. We’ll see how long this lasts, but I’m sure this is it, right? Anyway, the folks over at Bloody-Disgusting have confirmed that Amityville: The Awakening will receive a wide theatrical release.
The film stars Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bella Thorne, McKenna Grace, Cameron Monaghan, Taylor Spreitler, Thomas Mann, and Jennifer Morrison.
Synopsis: Belle, her little sister, and her comatose twin brother move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother’s expensive healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house including the miraculous recovery of her brother, Belle begins to suspect her Mother isn’t telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.
Amityville: The Awakening has received an ‘R’ rating for strong horror violence and language, but the question is, are you guys still interested in checking this one out?
