‘Mortal Kombat XL’ Announced and Coming This March

If you’ve been holding off on buying “Mortal Kombat X” because you knew there was an inevitable “game of the year” edition coming at some point, then your time in the sun is finally here.

Warner Bros has announced that “Mortal Kombat XL” will be arriving on March 1, 2016 and will feature every single costume pack. DLC character, and even a couple of new goodies like the iconic Pit stage and “cosplay costumes” for Cassie and Jacqui that make them look like Sub Zero and Scorpion.  However, the Cosplay Costumes seem to be a pre-order bonus for now and there isn’t any word on when those would become available if you don’t pre-order “Mortal Kombat XL.”

The only downside to this news is that “Mortal Kombat XL” is only coming to PS4 and XBox One.  If you’ve been doing your fighting on the PC you won’t be seeing a port of this game.  You also won’t be getting Kombat Pack 2 or any of the other changes coming down the line for console versions.

Here’s a full break down of what you’ll be getting with “MKXL”:

  • Brand new playable characters the Xenomorph from Alien, Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre horror film series, Triborg and Bo’Rai Cho
  • Never released Apocalypse Skin Pack
  • Previously released content including playable Goro, Brazil Skin Pack, Kold War Skin Pack and Kold War Scorpion Skin
  • Playable characters Predator, Jason Voorhees, Tremor and Tanya, with each accompanied by three themed skins
  • Samurai Skin Pack
