Check Out the Trailer for Psychedelic Horror Game ‘Layers of Fear’

Jason McDonald

The team behind “Brawl” is back and this time they’re diving further into the horror pool with their new title “Layers of Fear.”  Described as a “psychedelic horror game” Layers has you exploring a twisted mansion that takes you into the mind of a mad man.

Here’s how Sony describes the plot of “Layers of Fear”:

Delve deep into the mind of an insane painter and discover the secret of his madness, as you explore a vast and constantly changing Victorian-era mansion. Uncover the visions, fears and horrors that entwine the painter and finish the masterpiece he has strived so long to create.

The story seems to play out as you explore the mansion and uncover clues and plot details that reveal the truth behind the twisted painter.  As you can tell by the trailer down below, the game looks like it’ll have plenty of visual tricks up its sleeve as environments twist and distort as you move about.  It actually looks like a fun haunted house simulator.  I’ll be curious to see how this turns out when it hits consoles on February 16th.  If you’d rather play it right now it’s currently available on the PC through Steam.
