‘Doom’ Unleashes Hell in New Campaign Trailer

Jason McDonald

The release of a new “Doom” is right around the corner, but I feel like we haven’t seen all that much of it.  With a release date firmly set for May 13th one can hope that the promotional machine will start revving up and we’ll get a better look at this thing before it shelves.  For now, though, we do have a pretty awesome trailer to show with you.

The latest trailer highlights the insane amount of bloodshed that’ll take place in Doom’s single player campaign.  Thanks to your arsenal of weapons you’ll be cutting, smashing, ripping, and blowing away enemies.  In the trailer it looks like your character has an assortment of kill animations that seem extremely detailed.  I just wonder if the kill animations will slow down the gameplay.  “Doom” is at it’s best when you’re frantically moving around killing demons, if you have to take time to give a special touch to every demon you come across that might bog things down.

As the iconic DOOM Marine, you wake to learn that the Union Aerospace Corporation’s facility on Mars has been decimated and overrun by hordes of demons. Humanity’s survival rests in your hands – and your hands alone. Fight Like Hell.
In DOOM’s campaign, there is no taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as you beat back Hell’s raging demon hordes. Combine your arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns, upgrades, movement and an advanced melee system to knock down, slash, stomp, crush, and blow apart demons in creative and violent ways.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.  “Doom” hits PS4, XBox One, and PC on May 13th.
