A New ‘Hellraiser’ is in the Works with Heather Langenkamp Attached- Doug Bradley is NOT Involved

Well here’s a surprising double dose of bombshells that I didn’t expect this late in the day.  It looks like a new “Hellraiser” sequel is in our future, but it’s not all good news for Pinhead fans.

The news first broke earlier today when ScareTissue shared a snippet from their interview with actress Heather Langenkamp (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”) that revealed her involvement with a new “Hellraiser” sequel.  In the interview she let it slip that she had a small part in the film and even shared who the director would be.

I actually have an opportunity to play a small part in Hellraiser.  I’m so excited about it.  I go next week to do the shooting… The script is amazing and that I got the part is something that I find incredible.

As for the director? Well . . .

It’s Gary Tunnicliffe who did all the makeup for all these years.  They gave him an opportunity to direct the movie.  I think it’s going to be pretty outstanding.

And for another surprise the film is expected to start shooting next month.  Now there’s one last revelation, and you might not like it.  Actor Doug Bradley (who played Pinhead in the majority of the “Hellraiser” films) has revealed on Facebook in a lengthy post that he and Clive Barker won’t be involved in the sequel.  Strangely, the reason Doug Bradley won’t be involved is because they wanted him to sign a gag order.  Here’s his full statement below.

I could understand if he said he wasn’t involved because the script was bad or because Clive Barker wasn’t involved, but saying that he didn’t want to sign a gag order is a bit odd. But, whatever the case may be, he won’t be involved in the new Hellraiser.  I’d be surprised if Stephan Smith Collins returned to the role after the negative association with “Hellraiser: Revelations.”  Coincidentally, Gary Tunnicliffe (the director of the new Hellraiser) wrote Revelations.  So, needless to say, this will be an interesting project to watch come together.
