First Look At Fede Alvarez’s ‘Don’t Breathe’

Fede Alvarez, the guy that gave us 2013’s Evil Dead, which was stellar in my opinion, is back to unleash some serious suspense in his latest flick Don’t Breathe. The film sounds like quite a personal film for Alvarez, and I’m keen to show us what he’s got. So, care to take a look at the official poster? The film stars Dylan Minnette, Jane Levy, Stephen Lang, Daniel Zovatto, Sergej Onopko, Jane May Graves, and Jon Donahue.

When talking about the film and his personal connection, Fede Alvarez explained the following to Entertainment Weekly;

I come from Montevideo in Uruguay, a third-world country where we always grew up with a sense of no future. It’s not something unique to where I come from. It happens in many, many different places. The characters in this movie, the reason I choose to tell the story of thieves and people who break into houses is because they want to break away from that reality. Their motivation is something I connect with, which doesn’t mean their morals are what I connect with. But I understand where they come from.

Apparently, Don’t Breathe differs greatly in comparison to Evil Dead, and instead of relying on gore, the film focuses into intense suspense.
