Check Out the First Look at Kong: Skull Island

The rumors of a new Kong movie had been kicking around for years, but it wasn’t until early 2014 when those rumors finally started to solidify.  And now, after changing cast members and announcing that Kong would battle Godzilla, production has finally begun on “Kong: Skull Island.”

With the film set to release on March 10, 2017 it’ll probably quite a few more months before we get a proper trailer for “Kong”, but thanks to MTV we finally have our first look at the film.  During the MTV Movie Awards we got a small glimpse into the production of “Kong: Skull Island” with a short vignette that shows behind-the-scene footage and interviews with cast members.

“Kong: Skull Island” stars Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, John Goodman, Samuel L. Jackson, Corey Hawkins, and Jason Mitchell in a film about a group of explorers who travel to a mysterious island where they discover a legendary beast known as King Kong.

What’s particularly interesting about this film is that it doesn’t appear to be a modern setting.  Instead the film takes place in a post-Vietnam War era.  So that means we probably shouldn’t expect Tom Hiddleston show to show up when Kong finally fights Godzilla.
