Sneak Peek Look at the ‘El Gigante’ Comic

Chris Savage

A little while back I had the opportunity to witness Gigi Saul Guerrero’s horror short El Gigante, which is based upon Shane McKenzie’s novel Muerte Con Carne, and it was pure awesomeness! Gigi and her team over at Luchagore Productions absolutely nailed it, and it quickly became one of the best shorts I’ve ever seen. But it turns out I’m not alone, many others have fallen in love with the short film and novel, and as such have created a beautifully illustrated graphic novel.

Hiro Fujii and Daiju Kurabayashi are the talented duo behind the graphic novel, and some how they have encapsulated the pure intensity and graphic violence of the short onto paper, and we have a little sneak peek look for you to check out below.

From the Press Release:

“El Gigante”, the short film based on Shane McKenzie’s novel Muerte Con Carne, has been a massive hit for Luchagore Productions, playing in festivals worldwide and receiving insane critical acclaim. We are pleased to announce that the famous short film has now been turned into a graphic novel by the extremely talented team of Hiro Fujii and Daiju Kurabayashi from Japan! The vibrant colors and eye-popping visuals of the comic perfectly capture the tone of the film, and this is sure to be a huge hit with fans of the story. The BLOOD and GORE ooze from the pages, and will leave the reader feeling dirty and filthy, yet satisfied!

We’ve also provided the teaser trailer from the short so you can get an idea of their inspiration.

Hit up their official website and keep those eyes peeled for news as to when this will be unleashed.
