Freddy, Jason, and Leatherface are Coming to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood

We’re getting the band back together! It looks like all of our horror favorites are joining forces to put on a hellacious show this Halloween season.  Universal Studios Hollywood has announced that Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Leatherface will all have mazes for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights event in Hollywood, Ca.

It was just a couple of weeks ago that we learned that Michael Myers would be returning to the theme park with a new maze entitled “Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield.” And now today we’ve learned that he won’t be the only old favorite returning.  Freddy and Jason will return in a maze based on the 2003 film “Freddy vs Jason.”  Here’s how Universal describes it:

In “Freddy vs. Jason,” demented killer Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare on Elm Street) returns to the scene of the crime, this time accompanied by notorious hockey mask killer Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) to inflict twice as much terror. Inspired by New Line Cinema’s 2003 film that brought together the biggest horror icons in history, this new experiential maze thrusts guests into an epic battle in which the fate of only one killer will survive.

And while “Freddy vs Jason” will be all about conflict, the Leatherface maze will be about family bonding.  Leatherface and his brother Chop Top will star in “Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Blood Brothers.”  Here’s how the maze is described:

The unspeakable terror embroiled within “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Blood Brothers” maze, based on Tobe Hooper’s original film, will pit guests against the unsavory wrath of the demented killer, Leatherface, and his mentally unhinged brother, Chop Top, as they unite in misery to expand the family’s cannibalistic enterprise and slaughter a new generation of innocent victims. With the perverse duo at the helm of a grotesque BBQ restaurant staged inside a dilapidated roadside gas station, unwitting guests will soon realize that new terror awaits as the blood brothers continue their hedonistic prey on human flesh.

Along with these mazes, horror fans will also be able to enjoy the “Walking Dead” attraction that Universal now has open all year long and then there’s the Terror Tram which is said to be a “fully re-imagined experience uniquely themed to today’s most definitive horror properties.” So I’m really curious as to what that’ll turn out to be.

With all these big properties getting back together again for one event, it reminds me of one of my all time favorite commercials.  Check it out below along with all the other promo videos.

Halloween Horror Nights kicks off even earlier this year arriving on September 16th.
