Benicio Del Toro is In Talks to Star in ‘Predator’

There’s been a lot of rumors going around about who might be the next actor to go toe-to-toe with the Predator, but this one might be the must surprising and yet . . . kind of perfect.

Deadline is reporting that Benicio Del Toro is in early talks to star in Shane Black’s upcoming “Predator” film.  Now you might initially start thinking of Del Toro’s more dramatic roles, but the man has a history of being a complete badass as well.  Most recently Del Toro starred in “Sicario” where he played a ruthless mercenary.  Then there was that 2003 movie “The Hunted” where he gets into a crazy knife fight with Tommy Lee Jones.

Okay, sure, he’s no Arnold Schwarzenegger, but he’s certainly a few rungs higher on the badass scale than Adrien Brody and Danny Glover.  And personally I think he’s a more dynamic choice than just another big action star.

So far Del Toro is only in talks and no plot details have been revealed about the upcoming “Predator” film.  All we know for sure is that Shane Black is directing this time around with a script he wrote with his “Monster Squad” co-writer Fred Dekker.  Stay tuned for more details.
