XLrator Media Brings ‘Good Tidings’ Home in Time for Christmas

We’ve been following Stu Jopia, Stuart W. Bedford and Giovanni Gentile’s festive slasher Good Tidings ever since the inception of the film, and we have to say that we’re pretty damn stoked for this one. The film has received some truly awesome praise on the festival circuit so far, and that brings us to this awesome slice of news.

Good Tidings has been picked up for distribution in North America via XLrator Media, and the shingle plans to drop the film down your chimney this December 6th. Okay, maybe not literally down your chimney, but you get the picture.

From the Press Release:

Two-Headed Snake Entertainment are happy to announce that the upcoming Christmas themed horror/thriller ‘GOOD TIDINGS’ has been picked up for North American distribution by XLrator Media releasing on their horror centred label ‘Macabre’ on the 6th December.

If you can’t wait till then don’t worry as ‘GOOD TIDINGS’ has been picked up by various film festivals across the globe. The Starburst International Film Festival, Bram Stoker International Film Festival, Buenos Aires Film Festival, Requiem Fear Festival and Toronto Indie Horror Festival are to name just a few. So look out for us at a festival near you.

The movie draws inspiration from genre classics, Black Christmas, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Silent Night Deadly Night and Assault on Precinct 13, whilst still harkening to the new breed of horror thrillers like You’re Next, The Devils Rejects, The Strangers and The Purge.

A homeless war-veteran with a chequered past must rely on a side of himself once thought buried when he and his companions are targeted on Christmas Day by three vicious psychopaths in Santa suits.

Written and conceived by horror enthusiasts Stu Jopia, Stuart W. Bedford and Giovanni Gentile, who recently penned this years zombie action thriller ‘Apocalypse’.

With a micro budget of 15k and shot on location in a disused courthouse in Southport, Merseyside. Amanda Robertshaw has opened the courthouse doors for the first time and allowed a film crew inside to create this daring 70’s style siege/horror movie.

One of the highlights of this movie is the bespoke score which has been masterfully crafted by Liam W.Ashcroft aka JeanMichelNoir. His major influences including some of the great composers of the 70’s and 80’s, John Carpenter, Claudio Simonetti and Fabio Frizzi.

Director/Writer Stuart W. Bedford tells us “We’ve always been fascinated by Exploitation movies. Good Tidings is our love-letter to those phenomenal slashers from the 70’s and 80’s, tied together by a festive satire: Christmas is cruel to the poor.”

Writer/Producer Stu Jopia says “Christmas themed horror movies are my favourite holiday movies, so much festive fun to be had, and a slasher/siege movie featuring three psychopathic killer Santa’s is exactly what Christmas time has been crying out for.”

Producer/Writer Giovanni Gentile adds “There are not enough Christmas slashers out there. It is our mission to add to this genre pool, and have a merry bloody time doing it.”
