‘Bates Motel’ Sets a Date for its Final Season

Jason McDonald

This year marks the fourth and final year that “Bates Motel” has been on A&E.  It’s troubling to think that four years have gone by so quickly.  I feel like i’m going a little mad just thinking about it.

A&E has announced through EW that the fifth and final season of “Bates Motel” will premiere on February 20th.  That puts it just a few days short of the shows fourth anniversary as it premiered on March 18, 2013.

“Bates Motel”, as you might guess from title, followed the rise of one of cinema’s most infamous killer Norman Bates.  While not a direct translation of the movie that inspired it, “Psycho”, the show has more or less crafted the road that led Norman Bates to his fateful encounter with Marion Crane.  An event we can expect to see play out this season as Rihanna has been cast to play the role once portrayed by Janet Leigh.

So get your shower cap ready, things could be taking an interesting turn for Norman very soon.
