The Next Season of ‘American Horror Story’ Will Take on the Presidential Election

While the last season of “American Horror Story” seemed to be shrouded in secrecy up until the last minute, it looks like Ryan Murphy is being rather open about this new season. And it looks to be a topical one.

Speaking with Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live”, “American Horror Story” producer Ryan Murphy revealed that season seven of his series will focus on a topic that is still fresh on a lot of minds: the Presidential election.  Here’s where Murphy reveals a few small details.

In the clip Murphy says that the new season doesn’t have a title yet, but will focus on the election.  Cohen then asks Murphy if the new season will have a Trump-type figure and Murphy simply replies with “maybe.”

For those looking for some escapism from the current political climate, I’m sure this will be a bit disappointing.  However, I am still curious how the “horror” aspects of AHS will blend with a more modern political narrative.  It’ll be interesting to see if this is more tongue in cheek in Coven or be more horrific like Murder House. Guess we’ll have to wait in see.

For now the only other detail that we know is that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will be involved.  So stay tuned for more.
