X-Files Renewed for Another Season at Fox

Jason McDonald

Hey you know what was really awesome? That time “X-Files” was renewed for a tenth season.  You know what was less awesome? The actual tenth season.  Here’s hoping things go differently this time around.

TVline is reporting that Fox has announced that they are renewing “The X-Files” for an eleventh season. And it won’t be a measly six-episode revival like season 10. This time we’re getting 10 whole episodes.  Hopefully that means we’re getting more “monster-of-the-week” episodes.

An official date hasn’t been announced for the 11th season, but we can expect it to appear during the 2017-2018 season.  Season 10 premiered in January 2016, so we’ll probably get something close to that.  Production will begin on the 11th season this summer with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning as Mulder and Scully.

Along with the announcement Fox has released a new poster that you can check out down below.
