Jessica Chastain is Game to Play Bev in ‘It: Chapter 2’

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for the sequel to “It” and having to wait till 2019 feels like an impossibly long wait.  So at this point I’ll take any bit of news about “It: Chapter 2” that I can take.  So how about some speculative casting?

In case you didn’t know, the second half of the “It” film will focus on the Loser’s Club all grown up and dealing with the maniacal Pennywise again.  As a result everyone is wondering who will play our favorite kids all grown up.  While there are lot of perfectly adults that can play the boys, there are only a few Hollywood redheads up to the task of playing Bev.  One actress, in particular, seems to have risen to the top of the pack and that’s Jessica Chastain.  For one reason, she’s an awesome actress who generally does pretty great movies.  Secondly, she has a history with “It” director Andy Muschietti as he starred in his 2008 film “Mama.”

And now it seems the fan interest in Jessica playing the role of adult Bev is mutual as she has expressed interest in the role.  Screen Rant recently interviewed Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba and they seized the opportunity to ask her about the role:

Well, I love Andy and Barbara. I worked with them on Andy’s directorial debut, you know, his film, Mama. His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so…

We’ll see.

Listen, of course, I want to work… they’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen.

So she’s saying there’s a chance! Yeah it’s definitely not definitive, but it seems like she’s pretty open to the idea. Also worth noting is that they asked Idris Elba if he’d be interested in playing Mike. Unfortunately Idris hasn’t seen “It” yet, but he’s down to be in the film as well.  That seems like a less likely connection, but i’d love to see Idris Elba get a second crack at a Stephen King movie.

What do you think?  Jessica Chastain for Bev and Idris Elba for Mike? In to it? Let us know below.
