Well, this is pretty awesome, right? Some information has come to light via the folks over at Variety which reveals that those pesky little Crites are returning to our screens, only this time as a TV series.
The site reports that Critters: A New Binge TV series will be hitting Verizon’s go90 in the near future, and will be produced by Abominable Pictures in association with Blue Ribbon Content for Verizon.
Also, Rupert Harvey and Barry Opper from the original Critters film franchise will be producing. They’ll be joining the production team of Jordan Rubin, Jon Kaplan and Al Kaplan, the creative team behind Zombeavers.
Al Kaplan will also write, while Jordan Rubin directs.
Synopsis: The critters return to Earth in search of one of their kin, who was left behind years ago during an earlier mission. They land in Burbank, Calif., where they wreak havoc on a group of high schoolers.
At this time we have no word as to whether they will be going the practical route in the design of the Crites of if they’ll be using CGI or a mixture of the two. But hopefully the Chiodo Brothers will be involved in some capacity, to truly bring the Crites back to their beautiful, gnarly glory.
So what do you guys think, excited?
