Chris Hemsworth in Talks to Star in ‘Men in Black’

Jason McDonald

Remember when they joked about a 21 Jump Street/MIB crossover after “22 Jump Street?” And then that joke became dangerously real until it was mercifully killed off?  Well, half of that joke is still real as Sony is moving forward with a “Men in Black” spinoff film.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Sony is in talks with Chris Hemsworth to star in their upcoming “Men in Black” spinoff to be directed by F. Gary Gray who last directed “Fate of the Furious.” The reason this is called a spinoff is because it’s intended to be like “Jurassic World” where the new film exists in the same world as the previous films, but stars totally new people on a new adventure.  Along with Hemsworth THR has learned that Sony is looking to also cast “a female of color and an older man.”

So far there isn’t much else to say about the project, but I’m sure if Chris Hemsworth signs on it’ll light a fire under the project and get it moving.

Maybe F. Gary2 can make a go of it with Thor.
