It’s been a minute since we last heard from director Rusty Cundieff about his upcoming sequel “Tales from the Hood 2”, but the director has finally emerged from production on the film and has brought some exciting news along with him.
Speaking with Dread Central, Cundieff revealed that an iconic actor had signed on for his long-awaited sequel. In the original “Tales from the Hood” Clarence Williams III played the role of Mr. Simms who acted as the narrator for the various stories and (spoiler alert) revealed himself to actually be Satan. While it would be great to have Clarence return to reprise the role, he has actually since retired from acting.
So what do you do? Who do you get to possibly step into those shoes? Well, how about Keith David? Cundieff announced to Dread Central that David will be playing Mr. Simms in the upcoming sequel. Honestly, I can’t imagine a better choice to take on the role. Except maybe Sam Jackson, but I only say that because his hair in “Unbreakable” always made me think of Simms.
What do you think? Excited for Keith David? Have a different actor in mind for the role? Let us know below.
