Universal to Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of ‘Jurassic Park’ With a Special Event at Universal Studios Hollywood

Jason McDonald

You feel that? You feel the unstoppable creep of time on you?  It’s been 25 years since “Jurassic Park” came out! I was but a child when it came out, now look at me. OH GOD. But hey, it’s alright, cause Universal is having a special celebration for the anniversary of “Jurassic Park” and that’ll take my mind off my impending demise for a bit . . .

For the 25th anniversary of “Jurassic Park” Universal Studios Hollywood is having a day long celebration on May 11th and 12th that’ll involve both events inside of the park and a special screening of “Jurassic Park.”  Here’s a breakdown of what Universal has planned for the celebration:

The multi-faceted immersive Celebration will feature a private screening of the epic Jurassic Park at Universal CityWalk’s all-new, state-of-the-art Universal Cinema.  The exciting showcase will also re-release the film’s original trailer.

The remainder of the event, which includes exclusive after-hours access, will take place within Universal Studios Hollywood, adjacent to the theme park’s thrilling “Jurassic Park—The Ride.”

Guests will receive a special commemorative lanyard and unlimited access to all things Jurassic, from the acclaimed theme park ride, to original props, including the Gyrosphere as seen in the record-breaking Jurassic World, original dinosaur maquettes, costume displays and an interactive expo area.  Live entertainment, themed food and merchandise will also be available to complement the event.

Tickets to the event are divided into two categories where you can either enter the park all day long or attend the after-hour celebrations.  You can check out the ticket prices here.  As part of the event people will also be able to dress up as their favorite “Jurassic Park” characters.  A rarity as Universal is usually pretty strict with dressing up at the park. Be sure to check the rules to see what will be allowed.
