Lars von Trier’s Serial Killer Flick ‘The House that Jack Built’ Gets a Trailer

Lars von Trier’s made his grand return to the Cannes Film Festival today with his latest film “The House that Jack Built.”  The film, starring Matt Dillon, is von Trier’s take on a serial killer thriller so it should come as no surprise that it caused quite a stir at Cannes.

According to THR the film caused people to flee the theater during the screening, but it ultimately got a six minute standing ovation when it was all said and done.  Of course, wildly different and exaggerated actions tend to be the norm for Cannes.  That being said, as someone who isn’t a huge Lars on Trier fan, I gotta admit I’m pretty eager to see how this one is going to turn out.

“The House that Jack Built” stars Matt Dillon as Jack and follows his life over 12 years as he develops into a highly intelligent serial killer.  The film also stars Uma Thurman, Jeremy Davies, Bruno Ganz, and Riley Keough.

To coincide with von Trier’s return to Cannes they’ve gone ahead and released the first trailer and you can check it out down below.  Let us know what you think.
