The final piece of the Losers Club puzzle has been found and, I have to say, I never would have guessed who it would have been even if my life depended on it.
Isaiah Mustafa, most famous for his legendary Old Spice commercials, has signed on to play Mike Hanlon in “It: Chapter 2.” The news was revealed by Chosen Jacobs, who played kid Mike in last years “It,” via his Instagram page.
While most people will think Isaiah is just the Old Spice guy, he has had a long history of acting both in television and film. Most recently he’s had a long stint on the tv series “Shadowhunters.” He’s most definitely a left field choice, but one that could pay in dividends if it leads to him surprising people.
Honestly, so far the only obvious casting choice has been Jessica Chastain as Beverly. Everyone else has been someone I wouldn’t have expected. We have Bill Hader as Richie, James McAvoy playing Bill, James Ransone as Eddie, Jay Ryan playing Ben, and Andy Bean as Stanley. A pretty unique and diverse range of talent to be sure. Oh, and let’s not forget that Bill Skarsgard is returning to play the horrific Pennywise.
“It: Chapter 2” will be directed by Andy Muschietti again with Gary Dauberman writing the script. The sequel is set to hit theaters on September 6, 2019.
