The Soska Sisters’ ‘Rabid’ Remake Has Begun Filming

It was announced a little while back that the Soska Sisters (American Mary, See No Evil 2) were announced to direct a remake of David Cronenberg’s Rabid, and now today, word has come that the sisters have begun filming the remake.

Along with that, Bloody Disgusting has revealed some casting news which reveals that Ben Hollingsworth (“Code Black”) has joined the cast as “Brad”, a fashion photographer. The film also stars Laura Vandervoort as Rose, Hanneke Talbot (“Playing Dead”) plays Rose’s best friend Chelsea, Mackenzie Gray (“Legion”, “Riverdale”) as arrogant fashion designer “Gunter”, and former WWE superstars Phil Brooks (CM Punk) and his wife AJ Mendez (AJ Lee) will play “Billy” and “Kira” respectively.

SynopsisDrawing influence from the original movie, the remake will follow Rose, a young woman who, after an accident leaves her scarred beyond recognition, undergoes a radical untested stem-cell treatment. While turning Rose into the belle of the ball, the experimental transformation comes at a price.

Fangoria also tweeted the following image of the sisters and announcement of filming;

We’re pretty big fans of Jen and Sylvia, their first feature, Dead Hooker in a Trunk, is still something we love to this day and of course, American Mary was a blast, so it will be interesting to see their take on Cronenberg’s Rabid.
