John Carpenter’s ‘The Fog’ to Get 4K Release in October

With a new “Halloween” on the horizon all the John Carpenter talk is firmly centered around that film. However, while “Halloween” is the talk of the town, there is another John Carpenter classic that is looking to get it’s time in the spotlight.

According to Variety John Carpenter’s “The Fog” is getting a 4K restoration and is heading to a limited number of theaters this October. The site is reporting that there will be screenings in New York, Los Angeles, and in Chicago with additional screenings to be held throughout Halloween week in various Alamo Drafthouse theaters.  The first screenings will take place on October 26th.

“The Fog” centered on a small town that was besieged by a strange ominous fog that held the spirits of angry sailors within it.  Along with the announcement Rialto Pictures (who is handling the distribution) has released a trailer that you can check out down below.
