Jeremy Saulnier has methodically developed a resume that demands to be seen. He hasn’t built up a large catalog of films just yet, but everything he has put has been engrossing in a uniquely unnerving kind of way. So, yeah, you can say i’m kind of excited to see his newest feature.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of “Blue Ruin” but I enjoyed the ride it took me in. However, I absolutely loved “Green Room” so I’m eager to see what he brings to the table next with his newest feature film “Hold the Dark.”
Coming to Netflix exclusively on September 28th, “Hold the Dark” was written by Macon Blair (“I Don’t Feel at Home in this World Anymore”) and directed by Saulnier. The film stars Jeffrey Wright as a wolf hunter who travels to a small village to help a grieving mother track down the wolves that killed her child. However, when her husband returns from the war to discover his child is dead things take a dire turn. Check out the trailer down below, it looks pretty damn intense.
