Trailer for ‘Happy Death Day 2U’ Finally Comes Out with Some Minor Changes from the Theatrical Version

Jason McDonald

If you saw “Halloween” this year or perhaps some other Blumhouse related horror movie around the time you might have seen the first trailer for the sequel to last years “Happy Death Day.” It was a solid trailer and opened up the series to new possibilities.  However, if you tried to find that trailer online later on, you might’ve noticed that it was nowhere to be found.  Well, after all this time, they’ve finally decided to drop that trailer with some slight differences.

“Happy Death Day 2U” is the sequel to last years slasher flick that featured a college student who was doomed to die over and over again until she can figure out who is killing her and why. The film is a direct follow-up, further exploring those events and adding new mysteries to the fold and new victims to save.

What’s interesting to note is that this trailer has seemingly removed a few of the suicide deaths featured in the original theatrical trailer.  Originally the trailer showed Tree drinking Drano and dropping a blow dryer into her bathtub.  Now it seems they’ve replaced some of those with the skydiving bikini clip. The original also revealed more of the new characters than this one did.  It’s not a drastic change, but I am curious why they decided to adjust it before finally releasing it.  Maybe they felt it gave away too much or perhaps the original suicides were a bit too extreme for a YouTube trailer.  Either way, the trailer is finally out and it’s a pretty damn good trailer.  I for one am excited to see a sequel even though I was a bit lukewarm on the original.  I just hope they finally use 50 Cent’s birthday song in the movie.
