New Jersey High School Turns ‘Alien’ into a Glorious Stage Production

You’ve probably heard of this as it has just exploded over social media, and for good reason, too. A drama club in North Bergen High School in New Jersey have put together a stage play of Ridley Scott’s iconic 1979 movie Alien, which they’ve aptly titled Alien: The Play, and it looks absolutely gorgeous. The school’s drama teacher; Perfecto Cuervo, along with his students spent eight months planning the production which was recently shown on two nights; March 19th and March 22nd.

The stage design is absolutely impressive, with most of the costumes created via recycled materials at the hands of Steven Defendini, the school’s art instructor and his team. And I can’t imagine the hours it must have taken for them to complete this as it looks totally authentic and seriously impressive.

Apparently, according to Entertainment Weekly, the production ran for 1 hour and 40 minutes, and it follows the movie exactly with a few scenes added. Below we have some footage which has been shared by those in attendance and I think you guys will love it. Oh, and they’ve also created a little trailer which is a lot of fun.

Who’d like to see this become an actual Broadway show?
