Which T.v Series Scared You As A Child?

Horror or otherwise.I honestly cannot think of any that did, i definitely was not scared of dr who. the only thing i can think of was a british t.v series from 1973/4/5 called "Thriller" ( not to be confused with the 1960's boris karloff series) which didn't get shown here until the late 1980's. the opening music from that used to send shivers down my spine.anyway was there any show that scared you good people?

Game of Thrones

I was a bit late to the party on this show, having discovered it towards the end of season two (which meant I got to watch a lot of episodes all at once!). I had heard so many great things, and was not let down. This show is great, and I find myself hating Joffrey as much as any character ever.

The season three premiere was good...but kinda blah. Looks like they are just setting up story lines at this point.

I watched some of Scariest Places on Earth recently on reruns on the Sci-fi channel hosted by Linda Blair.

Hemlock Grove

Hemlock Grove is available to stream on Netflix now. I have been watching it all morning because it is seriously addictive! It is a new series made for Netflix that was produced by Eli Roth and the first episide is directed by him also. It is a little strange and off-beat like Twin Peaks.

I am loving it so far but have lots of questions...

I just heard about this show but now it's also know as Deadly Nightmares

The Hitchhiker is a mystery anthology series that aired from 1983 to 1987 on HBO and First Choice in Canada. The series later moved to the USA Network from 1989 to 1991.

I not even sure if this even aired in UK at all.

Show anyone heard of this show before, as anyone seen seen any of the TV show

but I have one question ? wasn't there an episode where a young farm boy finds a hole in the ground out in the woods that is very very deep and creepy ? that seems to have evil creatures down below ? someone gets lowerd in to rescue a dog that fell in and they return frightened mute with white hair ?

Freddy's Nightmares - some of the most bizzare stuff that went on

I was watching some of the main documentary of Never Sleep Again of the DVD I got up to the Welcome to Prime Time talk about the Freddy's Nightmares tv show.

Holy crap I never knew how bizzare some of the episodes got and how gory they got to be such as Freddy coming out of a guy's stomach where the guy is kind of naked in bed where he was trying to get it on with a woman. The director who did that episode of Freddy's Nightmares they must have seen the Nightmare on Elm Street 2 movie way too much or something lol.

Back then I missed out on all of the episodes except a few such as the weird threesome cannibals and the weird Mime/Robber guy

Almost The Same

Buffy and Smallville have the same basic format. A savior-like protagonist with super powers either fights a "monster of the week" or makes progress on the main storyline (final boss) of the season or series. Buffy and Clark both have Scooby gangs, and both make that transition from high school to university to real world. In a different-but-same way, the X-Files kind of perfected the modern "monster of the week" vs. overarching storyline format.

Vampire Diaries and True Blood are very similar. Normal girl falls in love with vampire, girl discovers she's special (doppelganger, fairy, whatever). Girl loves straight laced vampire, hates bad boy vampire, later changes her mind, then it turns out straight laced has a dark side. Girl's human brother is her only family, her black best friend is a witch, cue the studly werewolf, etc. Twilight isn't that close, but there are similarities there as well.

Also, ever notice Psych, The Mentalist, Monk, Colombo, etc. all have the same format? More include Girls and Sex and the City and Friends and Happy Endings. My favorites are Monsters, Twilight Zone, Tales from the Darkside, Night Gallery, Outer Limits, Friday the 13th series, Masters of Horror, etc, basically the same thing with a different tone of voice.
