Do you remember when horror films actually use to excite us? With all the repetitive crap Hollywood has chosen to feed us over the last few years, it can be hard to remember the last recent film of the genre that was watchable. It is for this reason, and many more, that I present you with what is surely going to be another reason to truly get excited about horror again.

From the guys that brought us the short film “Seizure” and the deliciously disturbing short “32”, I give you, “The Dinner Guest.” It is the studio’s first attempt at a full feature film, but that isn’t stopping the enthusiasm for a second. With all original music and sounds, and can lighting being resourcefully used for each and every shot, these guys are working hard to bring horror back to its golden period.

They are seeking to do the entire film on a budget of just $6,000. Donations not only help these guys make a movie that is worth being made, but can get you some pretty awesome extras. Who doesn’t love extras? Donations can be made by visiting the Indiegogo promotion page
The crew consists of James Neff, Danica Deering, Joseph Dean Martinez, and Aleta Jordan on makeup. And let’s not forget that Eric Fox from Syfy’s Face/off will be working as the special effects artist. These guys are hard at work. Let’s help them out so they can continue to do what they love, making what horror fans want to see and putting that bit of fright back into our lives.

Thank you all and now I present you the promotional teaser of “The Dinner Guest” from Nightwalker Cinema!

http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-d … inema-film

John Carpenter is interested in a Dead Space adaptation

http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/dead-sp … pace-movie

Even seeing a mention of Carpenter expressing interest in a new movie gets me excited. I've been wanting to see another great movie from him for a long time now. Not too get anyones' hopes up too high, but this would be great if it actually happened.

First of all, I had no idea Carpenter would look into a gaming franchise such as Dead Space. I have played (and really enjoyed) the first Dead Space game of a series of three main games. It essentially is a cross between The Thing and Alien (and a bit of Event Horizon too). The premise involves a crew boarding a large space vessel that went out of contact, and the people on board have been changed into horrible-"Thing"-like monsters called necromorphs. There's some nice backstory to it and it's filled with plenty of tension. Unfortunately, the series itself dropped off into action territory and lost its "magic" - think the change from Alien to Aliens, but not done well.

Again, this doesn't mean it will go anywhere, but you never know. What do you guys think? Any Dead Space fans out there?

The Conjuring (2013) - rated R because it's "too scary"

www.imdb.com/title/tt1457767/

I've only just heard about this one, but it's being directed by the guy behind Insidious, which I thought was decent.

What caught my attention in a few articles was the mention that it received an R rating not because of gore, nudity or naughty words... but because it was deemed too scary.

That's caught my attention, can anyone think of any other examples of a rating like this happening?

There's a new trailer out but I'm giving it a miss. Trailers these days give far too much away for my liking.

Exactly as i said it. Planet Terror was way more fun than Machete and therefore if Rodriguez wants a sequel to one of his grindhouse films it should be Planet Terror. Cherry is such a more interesting character. What do u guys think. Would u welcome a sequel to Planet Terror.

what upcoming classic horror film remake are you looking forward to the most? i'm definately going to have to say creature from the black lagoon, though i dont know when (if ever) it will come out. i've been waiting anxiously for several years now to see this classic remade. however, production is going through hell and there's still not much news about how it's coming along. i heard they more recently hired a new screen writer, who i really hope gets the job done so i can see the creature death gripping peoples faces on the big screen.
