Surprisingly, there was an unlock code for this cheap DVD player I bought for $30.00 a couple years ago.  I don't have that player anymore, but it was a shock to find that out.

I know too, that I can find a region free DVD player for cheap as well.  And I have a TV that's PAL ready.

There are solutions.  If you want to be reasonable.

Yeah dude, you're right enough....the design isn't all that bad when looking at it! The new one just looks alot glossier. The features on the dvd that I've got are still pretty good, would most likely pick up the new one if I had a bare bones copy.

I have two DVD players, and a year or two ago, I tried doing what you suggested and couldnt find anything on the players that I have.  Might have to try again.. hopefully I can find something this time.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I agree.. Suspiria_89 no problem and BTK you are very welcome.   I plan on posting more Region 2 DVD news, because like I said, HM has a large reader base from all over and we have to spread the love. 

Now I can be jealous for once on how sweet a region 2 DVD looks and not having a region free player - CURSES!

That happens to me a lot.  The Hitcher being a great example of that.  The region 2 is a much better release.  The movie gets no love in region 1.
