In 2005 Midway released a new take on the arcade shooter series Area 51. Except this time the game was an FPS and was developed for Xbox,PS2, and Game Cube. Truthfully, the game was more of a Sci-Fi/action title than a Horror game, but being that it was so damn awesome i couldn't help myself from posting this news. As it turns out one of my favorite shooters(an underrated one at that) of 2005 has spawned a sequel that is being developed for all next gen consoles. Little is known about the game, entitled Area 52(not too creative in my opinion), aside from the fact that it will be picking up where the first one ended. Nothing has been announced, but I'm predicting a late 2007 or early 2008 release.

For more information on the original Area 51 head over to Game-reviews.ca or check out Midways official site.

http://www.area51-game.com/
http://game-reviews.ca/news_319.htm
