My list didn't have many slasher films, thats not a genre that I dislike but I just enjoy other ones more and I did like "American Psycho" Bale's performance was amazing, I just wish he would do more horror movies, his little monologue on Phil Collins was priceless. it for sure had its share of gore and dark comedy.

Machinist is another one of his movies I thought was different.

Re: whats your top 100 horror movies?

You should definately check out, "American Psycho".  Fantastic film.

Re: whats your top 100 horror movies?

I liked the book by Bloch but hated the movie...oh well, to each their own.

Agreed I really liked it but you can leave the sequel alone.

Re: whats your top 100 horror movies?

Stir of Echoes is definitely a good movie goldenwarrior, although I can't say I have seen 100 horror movies to make a list.  Though a few of my favorites are Hellraiser, TCM The Beginning, Fear Dot Com, Nightmare On Elmstreet, and The Exorcist.  I have more favorites, but those are the ones that come to mind now.

Re: whats your top 100 horror movies?

wow - fun list.

I assume that they are in order as well?

I have seen a lot of films and wouldn't know where to begin to rank them against each other because my rankings would change over time and circumstance.

Still, I hope this list gets people to check out some films they may not have seen.

Robert Bloch also was the writer behind "Straight Jacket" which is a film I just had a chance recently to rediscover and it needs to be updated in my top 100 I just haven't had the time to to do it yet here is a little post I made in another forum about it.

Straight Jacket

Like "On the Beach" this movie hasn't been talked about enough and I was wondering if anyone else liked it or disliked it and I am by no means comparing this to "On the Beach" there 2 different monsters, Straight Jacket is a cheesey movie true but its classic cheese smile

It also starred a young George Kennedy

Rent it! tongue

Here is the post i made in the other thread about it

Mommie Dearest is another classic Faye did a wonderful job, I don't condone what Joan Crawford did in her real life and Christina (daughter) didn't write the book till after she was dead so who knows how extreme it was but whatever the case may be I still think she is one of the best to ever grace the screen acting wise.

Its a bit ironic in Straight Jacket her daughter played by Diane Baker who was amazing as well in this film was traumatized at a early age I won't give any spoilers but it was also written by Robert Bloch who wrote Psycho the original and part 4.

Well its hard to rank them after 50 but yes I tried to rank them in the order I liked them.

yes taste in films do change but my top 10 will remain probably the same and when I have the time I can always edit it out later.:)

Don Summer the Editor at Best Horror Movies website inspired me to make a list after seeing it, although I don't agree with some of his rankings especially Descent being ranked so high, I do like the idea very much.

Here is his list

Re: whats your top 100 horror movies?

Thanks for the link - his list was very interesting.

I agree with you about his rankings - some of them seem a bit odd.

But then again, it's his list not mine smile

I still appreciate all the work that went into it.
