I saw the first season of MPD and it was way to fucked up for me.. I spent most of the time scratching my head at most of the stuff.. Didn't seem like horror more like a really weird episode of CSI..

Yea I really liked Dumplings but the other two were a little too abstract for me especially Miike's.. I didn't really like his entry Box..

For me, Audition was just Ok, and more hype than anything else. The film has a slow burn feel to it, which I was really diggin, the first 30-45 mins was ACE but Miike eventually took it and went totally to the other end of the spectrum with it.. and just lost me. And now I know that's just Miike being Miike, but by the time I got to the ending I really didnt care anymore.
Props to the torture scene and that dude in a sack was just a trip - but it doesnt make a movie for me.

I like it. Its mostly on my list cause I haven't seen too much Asian horror. R-Point is an excellent Korean ghost story.

It is very good. The film may go a bit slow for some people I think but for me it moves along rather nicely. It is not so much as scary as it is creepy with some tense moments and one or two jumps.

Audition sort of reminds of Hostel in the sense that the torture is mostly towards the later half of the movie. Both are great films and I love em' to death.

Audition in my opinon is Miikes best.. Hes always off the wall and odd but this one just seemed to have that perfect slow burn to it. Its still also got that creepy feel that just oozes from it as well. You know something is wrong but you can't put your finger on it.. I think it requires several viewings for the film to fully soak in..

Yea, he goes pretty balls out on the gore factor for a lot of his films. I really wanna check out his banned MoH episode "Imprint". Heard its really disturbing but just makes me want to see it more.
