Re: Killer Animal Horror Movies

Cool list smile.

BTK actually recommended 'Mans Best Friend' to me and it became on of my favs! So you'll love it  I bet.

I think you missed:

The Breed (not the best but lots of great German Shepherds in it)
and Rottweiler

Re: Killer Animal Horror Movies

also missed  The Pack (1977)
                            Grizzley   (1976)
and i thought 12 days of terror was good as well Bassi.

My faves are the birds, black sheep, lake placid, anaconda and franken fish. I've seen way more, but those are the only ones that pop to mind.

Re: Killer Animal Horror Movies

"Cujo" is what instituted my fear of dogs when I was a kid. Ooooweeee!! My parents should NOT have let me see that. I was TERRIFIED of dogs up until I was damn 16!!!!

Re: Killer Animal Horror Movies

This thread reminded me of all the killer bee movies of the late '70s early '80s.

Re: Killer Animal Horror Movies

OPEN WATER is real good.

How 'bout parasite films. I dig them.

Re: Killer Animal Horror Movies

One not mentioned is 'Isolation'.

I thought that was a really good movie. For the fact it's both pretty low budget, not widely known but the characters, the story, the gruesome effects all worked well and resulted in quite a surprisingly good movie. Def. think this movie deserves more of an audience.

Re: Killer Animal Horror Movies

There are a bunch of movies that have been coming out called the "Maneater Series" movies like:
Rise of the Gargoyles
Sand Serpents
Grizzly Rage
Shark Swarm
Hybrid
The Hive
Vipers
Yeti
Black Swarm (which was Robert Englund tongue )
Swamp Devil
Sea Beast
Wyvern

Re: Killer Animal Horror Movies

I think ISOLATION kinda fails in the reveal of the 'monster'.

Not scary.

Re: Killer Animal Horror Movies

^ That's fine. I didn't care much for the reveal but then to me it was a minor part in the entire scope of the actual movie. It's the aftermath I liked. How it went around, what happened, that's why I like the movie. It might not be amazing but it's by far not the worst animal horror  movie, of which they are a lot worse and more pain inducing to watch.

Re: Killer Animal Horror Movies

I liked the calf birth in the beginning!

Open Water? Sorry man, I disagree.

Re: Killer Animal Horror Movies

Jurassic Park and Tremors.....other animal movies aren't that good.  I do like Cujo and the Giant Gila Monster

I also like Open Water. Very dark and depressing film.

ha ha don't worry that movie/book is very exaggerated, even if he did have the 'furious' strain of rabies, he wouldn't of been able to stage attacks like he did.  He would also of become very unco-ordinated and died pretty quickly. But that's Stephen King for you!

Also Saint Bernards are usually pretty docile and sweet.

Re: Killer Animal Horror Movies

I liked Open Water, I found it suprisingly tense.  Isolation was another good one. I agree that it was very well made.
