Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Is there really any room for debate here?  Sean Connery is the only right answer.

agreed

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

I used to think it was Roger Moore, but he made a few bad Bond films. So I reckon the first two Sean Connery's Bond films were the best.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Simple....Sean Connery...

I must confess I would enjoy a couple more out of Pierce Brosnan however...

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Sean Connery my favourite, second favourite is Daniel Craig.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Sean Connery and then Roger Moore... with Daniel Craig being my least favorite.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Is this a trick question? It has to be Sean Connery! Although, Roger Moore was my  favorite as a kid, since I was watching his Bond films on the big screen. I remember hearing an interview with Roger Moore, he was talking about when he was first signed to play James Bond. He was going to a meeting with Sean Connery for some reason, and his son was excited that he was going to meet James Bond. Moore said that he was going to be Bond now, and his son said, "I know, but he's the real James Bond."

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Sean Connery Defo

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

my favorite would be roger moore, he is the one i grew up with. watched his movies in the theater as a kid. sure some were kinda goofy and gadget heavy but i didnt mind. physically he probably looked the closest to bond according to the novels from what i remember.

but craig is really the closest attitude wise because he is just badass.

connery is great but to me he was never really a good cast for bond, to thin and swarthy, he didnt have an imposing build at all. sure his bond kicked ass but he just looked like some rich guy on vacation.

i feel bad for lazenby, he tried but he got the shittiest film, i mean they let him get married and then kill his wife, wow what an ending...

dalton was ok but always a little blank looking really, he also seemed as if he was just trying too hard to be tough.

brosnan was awesome but only because id been a big fan already and like many of us wanted to see him play bond since the 80s.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

I actually always liked Timothy Dalton since I grew up in the 80's. And License to Kill was one of my favorite Bond movies.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Connery was the pimpist and got the best looking ladies.  fact.   lol

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Well, like Surv I grew up on the Roger Moore Bond flicks.  I never saw Connery in the role until Never Say Never again, and wasn't impressed.  Years later I saw the other Connery Bond flicks, and thought while he was better than Moore, he still didn't overly impress me.  Except with From Russia with Love, which is one of my favorite Bond movies.

I thought Lazenbi did what he could with the story he was given.  Too bad he didn't do another Bond flick, he certain had the physicality.

I liked Timothy Dalton -- mainly because he's a genuine, real-life tough guy who does his own stunts, but the Bond movies he worked on were kind of "eh," IMO.

Then Pierce Brosnan came along in Goldeneye and impressed the hell out of me.  His subsequent Bond flicks were hit or miss, but in that flick Brosnan was the James Bond I'd always imagined the character to be.  Suave, debonair, bad-ass.  His end fight with Sean Bean is one of my very favorite Bond showdowns.

Then Daniel Craig blew the lid off the role in Casino Royale.  He was also good in Quantum of Solace, though the film itself was a mess.

Here's how I'd rank them:

5 Favorite Bond flicks:

Casino Royale
Goldeneye
From Russia with Love
For Your Eyes Only
You Only Live Twice

Favorite Bonds (in order)

Daniel Craig
Pierce Brosnan (a VERY close second)
Sean Connery
Timothy Dalton
Roger Moore
George Lazenbi

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

I've never watched any James Bond movie, just not my thing I guess. Actually, I did catch some of Golden Eye in a hospital waiting room, but that just made me want to play the N64 game.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

All of them was good (even the guy in "Her Majesty's Secret Service").  However, I gotta say that, to me, the new guy is the best.  I really like the new style Bond, f***in' maverick-loose canon-lone wolf-rebel...YEAH, I LIKE THAT SH*T!!!

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Daniel Craig is my favorite.  The last two Bonds have been awesome.

Second is probably Roger.  He gets no love.  First one I saw was Octopussy, so that's probably why.  I'm not a huge Bond fan, but again, really liked the last two.  Especially Casino.
