World War Z.  Well-made with some nice suspense in the final fifteen minutes but otherwise, nothing special IMO.  Called this one early on when I said it'd be high on FX, low on story and character.  Nailed it.  I'd go 5/10.

Stake Land- One of the best vampire movie out there (IMO). I've watched it about 4X now, and still enjoy it. 8/10

Hansel and Gretel Get Baked (Netflix)- A comedic take on the classic fairytale. Not very well executed in laughs, or horror. 4/10

The Evil Dead (2013)

Not a fan. Comparing it to the original seems to me like comparing Dark Knight to The Avengers.
It was definitely a good movie, but as a remake it's just horrible. At least it made me want to watch the original again (tonight, if anyone wants to join me on skype)

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Buried (2009) tedious and boring. 4/10

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Tried the Evil Dead remake again earlier this morning and nope, still don't like it.

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Evil Dead (2013) - If taken in the context of a stand alone horror film with no connection to the cult classic that inspired it, it is actually a pretty good flick, rather enjoyable really.  But of course, being a horror fan, it is difficult to look past the fact that it is a remake of one of my all time favorites.  The tone is definitely more serious, and it lacks the charm of the original, especially the absence of one Chin, but all in all, I have a hard time disliking it.  3.5/5.

I like the remake even more. Digged the new plot and the girl in smack cold turkey idea. The witch is far creepier that the 1981 one, especially when she comes in the woods. Heh. tongue

Was Canaday so I honored our very talented film makers.

GINGER SNAPS BACK: THE BEGINNING [2004] rewatch

Don't need to say anything else that I already haven't.

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Just watched Zombie. It had been a while since I had seen this one, it's still great, maybe even better than the last time I watched it. A well told story of the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. Great camera work and some really imaginitive scenes.

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

I watched Dementia tonight.

What an amazing classic. Adrienne Barrett is awseome as The Gamin.

There's another cool one, Dementia 13 from 1963 by Coppola.

Both masterpieces.

Grabbers (2012)

I did this over today, I saw half yesterday and saw the rest of today, Maybe it's moie I need to watch in my sitting.

I thought there were some funny moments in this movie and some decent jokes here and there.

I liked the creature not bad but it didn't really all that fun,

Other creatures like Tremors it a lot of fun, this movie did not have the same impact as that at all.

I thought this would be much better then it was and I was hoping it to be a bit more funny then it was.

5 out of 10

Just finished watching one of my top ten faves, Return of the Living Dead.  Now watching Ringu.

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Killer Party - possibly the most 80's film ever made LOL. An all around fun slasher/demonic possession movie. The only negative aspects were the kill scenes, which are almost entirely off screen. Still a fun retro horror flick. 8/10

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Europa Report (2013) - An international crew of astronauts undertakes a privately funded mission to search for life on Jupiter's fourth largest moon.
IMDB calls it a Sci-Fi thriller, but be forewarned, this one doesn't pack a lot of thrills.  Instead, it focuses on atmosphere, the loneliness and isolation of space and how they affect the crew.  Very reminiscent of 2001.  For a low budget flick, it is pretty impressive what they were able to accomplish.  3/5.

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

From Beyond the Grave (1973) - Classic Amicus anthology.
