Last House on Dead End Street....  great movie, a lot of sex and gore!

:58 mins in:  NOW it's the movie I thought it was going to be!!!!!  BRUTAL!!!
Torture porn years ahead of it's time!   Love this movie!

Burial Ground by Andrea Bianchi.

The beheading at :40 mins in makes me think I may have seen this movie before.  Pretty cool so far though.  Diggin it.

:55 mins: "It's Miller Time".

:56 mins: incest is best, I guess.

and after that is some of the dumbest character decision making I've seen on film in some time.  "Let's let the zombies in the house!"  Great idea, buddy!

All in all it was cool fun.

Curse Of Chucky - 9/10!

Been looking forward to seeing this one for quite a while and just had to snap it up on Monday. Picked up the Blu-ray and absolutely love this film! This is definetly a triumphant return to horror for Chucky - it's just as good as Bride and the 1st Child's Play movie. The silliness of Seed Of Chucky has gone - making this one a genuinely creepy film with a great set-up and even some gothic horror elements too!

Lots of great kills and Chucky one-lines! Well worth checking out

Anyone else seen this one yet?

What did you think of it? I was actually very surprised at how good it was, and how much I enjoyed it.. I love this movie smile

I liked it a lot, it definitely did the franchise justice. I'm glad they took it back to its roots as a horror movie

Deadgirl (2008)

This one is a nice take on the zombie genre. Very moody, and I dug it throughout. A bit amateurish at times, but that actually appealed to me for once.

7/10

Curse of Chucky - 8.5/10

An awesomely refreshing (and scary) take on the Child's Play series. The last half of the film has some turns that you won't see coming, and the ending leaves us looking forward to another sequel. Man, Don Mancini really did this thing justice; the cast/storyline is solid, Chucky looks good (I know he looks weird in the trailer...but without spoiling anything, there's a reason for his appearance), there's some extra story added to Charles Lee Ray's history (which was very fun to watch), and the finale was super neat! Also, as its been said in reviews by many before me, be sure to stay after the credits for an additional scene.

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Big Ass Spider (2013).  Basically a SyFy Channel-type horror flick about a giant spider (horribly rendered by CGI) terrorizing LA.  But unlike most other films of its ilk, this one has a sense of humor and Greg Grunberg is entertaining in the lead role as a bug exterminator who finds himself up to the challenge.  What really caught my attention about this flick -- aside from the fact that it was directed by Mike Mendez, who usually sucks -- is that I recognized a couple scenes from the show Monster Man, a reality show about veteran FX artist Cleve Hall, which ran on SyFy but was canceled after one season.  Hall was brought in for three effects; to create a man whose face would melt after being sprayed by spider-juice, to create an over-sized spider head for a close up of the spider spitting said spider-juice, and for a scene where the spider crawled under a blanket to attack a bed-ridden victim.  The melting face effect is in the movie, but as was shown on Monster Man, his practical spider wasn't up to snuff for the bed attack so it was rendered digitally.  I did notice that the giant CGI spider was based on Hall's practical spider design, though.

Anyhoo, decent little flick, good for a couple laughs.

Carrie (1976)

Gearing up for the remake. I want everything to be fresh in my mind. Strangely enough I'm actually looking forward to seeing the new one. Odd.

REPULSION [1965] rewatch on TV

Damn what an insanely cool one full of tension and great drama. Catherine Deneuve is just AWESOME in this, one of her best performances EVER!!! And it's Polanski so the cinematography is just BEAUTIFUL!!! Great one that I enjoy watching ever damn time. I DIG Polanski's stuff. Always did always will. big_smile

The original Toolbox Murders (1978)

I liked this more than I was expecting to. The character motivations of the toolbox murderer was actually quite interesting as it developed.

7/10.

Halloween 3

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Tokyo Gore Police - insane, gory and WAY over the top. 8/10

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

"Supernova" (2000) - The less gifted younger brother of "Event Horizon". Its main problem may be the fact that it never settles on one strong topic. And the pretty decent cast (mainly Spader) saves it from being a total mess. 6/10

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Repulsion and Tokyo Gore Police Rock.

Today's movie: Mausoleum.

and now:  Funeral Home

Funeral Home is rather slow paced, yet suspenseful.  Reminds me of a Hitchcock movie.

an hour ten into it and I think I figured out who the killer is............

and at 1:24 I am totally wrong!!!!!

Ending's a let down for anyone who's ever watched classic horror.  They should have changed it  to make it more clever.

And on to Gargoyles a made for TV film released back in 1972.  I have been waiting a long time to see this one again!!

Doomwatch (1972)

Billed as a horror, it wasn't.

A rather drab affair.

Only 5/10 for nostalgia reasons but really it's a 4/10.

It wouldn't be there yet anyway.  It was just released last week (the 18th).  There are ways to see it, but none I can divulge openly on the forums. wink
