Topic: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
I am going to challenge myself by commiting to watch At least one Horror Movie A Day. I thought it would be fun to keep a journal of movies for a year! Feel free to join in if you also want to commit to the HMAD challenge! Muhahahaha.... I will list the movie, my rating, whether it was a rewatch or a new one, and my thoughts on it... Please give me suggestions to watch, this should be fun!!!
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
Day 1- Mansion of the Doomed AKA Massacre Mansion (1976)- 5/10 First View Rented Low Budget Thriller about a mad doctor that collects people's eyes and then locks them away in the basement. I hate stuff to do with eyes, so I was blinking and squirming all the way through it...LOL

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
I envy you, DG. One day when " I have a life " and am not being a full time father. I will be able to do something like this. If though at this point in my life I were able to what your trying to accomplish. I would personally start with the " classics." Ones like Frankenstein, The Wolfman, Creature From The Black Lagoon, NOTLD...etc. Reason is: to take me back to where it all started for me. After that? Who knows??? I think it's a great idea, and look forward to reading your journals. Have fun, young lady!!
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
I think the 70's had some of the best horror to offer.

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
YAY!!!! DG is taking on the 365 challenge! I'd love to go toe-to-toe with you girl, but I'm having enough trouble with just trying to write right now. As for Mansion of the Doomed, I'd go 6/10, but I don't have an eye thing. If you want some ideas for future movies, check out the stuff I reviewed on my MorgueSpace and on my own site. They're somewhat different (because I can't keep them synchronized). There are a few that you haven't listed, but not all are easy to find. Keep it up!

Wow! I wish I had the time and money to do something like this. My horror education is actually quite pitiful. Will be following you on this DG
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
Day 2- The Exorcist 2 The Heretic- 6/10 First View DVD Well it certainly wasn't anything like the original. I laughed out loud when I saw James Earl Jones in the bug costume and the cross eyed Linda Blair didn't help either. Despite having a pretty good story and excellent actors, it just kind of fell flat.

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
^^ I can't go any higher than 5/10 on this one.
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
Sometimes sequels should just not happen!
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
Day 3- Two great movies today... The Exorcist 3- 8/10 First Watch DVD The true sequel to the original Exorcist. A great Psychological Thriller starring George C. Scott. Loved the dialogue back forth between the characters and it had a few really creepy parts.

The Dead (2010)- 8/10 First Watch Bluray The Dead was beautifully shot in Africa with gorgeous scenery. The characters were likeable so you cared when something happened. No comedy in this one, the Movie was dead serious with Romero like Zombies. It felt like an old fashioned Zombie movie with no CGI.

I got to drop a point off 'Exorcist 3' due to Patrick Ewing. 'The Dead' I haven't seen. Yet.

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
Wow that is awesome DG! I doubt that I could keep up with you, but you did get me curious to see what I have watched this year so far. As you can see, I have missed a few days already. I started out strong in January, but have kind of faded in February. I also like to look out for the next new thrill, so I am constantly looking for new stuff, and as a result watch a bunch of independent and foreign stuff. But I do like to go back and watch stuff that I have not seen in a long time, like Island of Terror. Here is what I have logged so far. I'm 1/2 opposite of you- I can't afford to be up-to-date, but I'm always looking for the odd stuff that is a bit older.
