Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

Day 279 (yesterday)-

Dead and Buried- 7/10 Rewatch DVD

Day 280 (today)-

Jonah Hex- 5/10 Rewatch TV

Just want to mention I am at the In-Laws for the weekend and I don't have cell coverage up here and my mother in law only turns on the Internet once in awhile.  So I may not be able to post this weekend!

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

Dark Shadows (2012).  Gorgeous photography and Johnny Depp's good as usual but the movie itself was all over the place.  Didn't know if it wanted to be comedy, horror, camp, or what.

Enh.

Loved the beginning, but it was pretty cheesy in the second half.

I loved the scene in the bar though.... Think about it,  Edward Scissorhands, Dracula, and Freddy Krueger all go into a bar....

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

See, this is how big an impression it left on me.  I just finished watching it not half an hour ago and already I don't remember a bar scene. lol

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

Day 4: 3:28 P.M. Puppetmaster. This movie was like the worst movie I've seen. The lame acting. The unintetionaly comedic atmosphere along with Richard Band's occasionally comedic music. The lame special effect are all in this ****** piece of crap. Filled with gore w/out scares and ridiculous shots like when the main puppet  escape from the hitmans he was running around like a dog and people can[t even see h8m wiht that sizea. But in the hotel a woman saw it. WTF!?. The best moment was when they show breasts and the sex scenes. So I gave this one a 0.6/10

Young Padawan,  you must learn to appreciate a good cheesy Horror Movie!  Try another one... I recommend Killer Klowns From Outer Space smile

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

Yes hahaha Killer klown looks fun.

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

I used to love Puppet Master back in high school.  It's not a great movie, but it's far from the worst.

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

Don't know what I am going to watch tonight yet, but probably won't be able to get back on the internet to post it....

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

Day 281 (yesterday)-

Devil's Rejects- 8/10 Rewatch Dvd

Brought Devil's Rejects to watch with my sister in law this weekend.  She hadn't seen it yet and we are going to see Lords of Salem soon, so I thought she might like it.

Day 282 (today)-

Lust For a Vampire- 6/10 First Watch Dvd

Not one of my favourite Hammer films, it just doesn't flow very well like the others.  Ralph Bates certainly looks like Christopher Lee but he doesn't act like him!  Supposedly Ingrid Pitt was offered the role as Carmilla but she turned down the role because she didn't like the script.

Day 283-

The Asphyx- 8/10 Rewatch Dvd

Ms Gore, if you haven't seen this one yet, it is right up your alley.  Such a sad movie!  I hear they are going to remake it soon...  Not sure how it would turn out as a remake though.

the loved ones 2009 8/10 (RW) brutal.

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

Thanks DG, I'll have to check that out.

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

Sep 4 - Grabbers (2012) - When blood sucking aliens invade a small island off the coast of Ireland, the local authorities discover, quite by accident,  that the aliens do not like alcohol.  So to save their town and survive the invasion, our heros hatch a plan to keep all of the townspeople drunk.  It pretty much plays out as one would expect, with a surprise here and there, but it is a fun and original spin on the alien invasion theme.  Not over the top funny, but given the role that alcohol plays in the plot, it does lead to some very humorous moments in the film.  Definitely an enjoyable watch.  4/5.

Day 284-

Devil's Rain- 5/10 First Watch Dvd

Ernest Borgnine, William Shatner, and Tom Skerritt star in this movie about devil worshippers in the 70s.  It was a little slow and the story was all over the place.
