Dirty...Brotherhood is one of my favorite-ist movies E V E R !  Mark Dacascos is one of the greatest TV / Movie martial artists to ever be filmed.  Great fight scenes.  Awesome boobies.  Scary type creature.  Isolation and pretty women.  Betrayal.  More fights and more great boobies.  Movie is close to perfect.  Plus...Vincent Cassel, one of the greatest actors E V E R!  Love it!

are you saying Mark Dacascos has awesome boobies then Ghostie?

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

I have watched alot of foreign and independent stuff as of late, but I also love to see all of the classics that you mention, which I need to watch more of.  smile

Day 24-

Dario Argento's Phantom of the Opera- 6/10 First Watch Dvd

I am giving it a 6 because I just couldn't go for the whole raised by rats scenerio and where was the mask?  Isn't the Phantom supposed to be disfigured?  Maybe they couldn't stand to see Julian Sands with a mask on?   Anyway, I enjoyed the movie.

Popcorn- 8/10  Rewatch Dvd

Every time I watch this movie I love it even more!  Sure it's cheesy... but that's why I like it smile
Wouldn't it be fun to attend an all night Horror marathon?  Plus I love the Villain, Toby.

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

Phantom- one of the few I haven't seen of his
Popcorn- 7/10, fun film  (and yes, all night movie marathons are fun)

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

Wolfy - What I am saying is I love you.  smile

Lon - I hear ya on not really digging Brotherhood.  It's actually refreshing that someone can not like a movie, and at the same time, give it respect.  Very rare.  However, since you are a Dacascos fan, and you like good fights, and I know you get into the behind the scenes stuff, if you get a chance to check the "extras" portion of Brotherhood, you'd probably appreciate it.  They show a lot more of the fight scene with the staff, and it's unedited and all...so really ugly in a way, but it's awesome.  Plus the other dude gets into it (they give a great explanation as to why they changed that part, but I'll leave it be) which was cool.  It's prob been 10+ years since I seen it, but it still sticks with me.

Alien - I don't think I knew you were a hockey fan??!??!!?  Sweet dude!

Popcorn was a good, fun, flick.  I like Phantom, but not that version much.  I have a great story behind when I was a phantom during a performance...would love to tell it some time.  Agree with the rating on that Dirty.

Don't forget the monkey love.

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

Mar 16 - Beyond the Black Rainbow (2010) - Perhaps more science fiction than horror, it definitely has elements of horror, with hints of the occult, mental telepathy, murder and a real Cronenberg/Argento/Kubrick vibe to it.  Brilliant use of color, or lack there of, and lighting, plus a haunting score that reminded me of Phantasm.  Slow, strange and at times bizarre, with limited monotone dialogue and subdued background music.  It likely will not appeal to many people, particularly those with short attention spans, but if you are a fan of movies like Enter the Void, then you will probably dig this one.  3.5/5.  First Watch.

Agree with both.

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge

^DG, that scene in Tenebre will forever be etched in my mind.  Freaked me out the first time I saw it eons ago.

Mar 17 - The Hunters (2011) - Either they entirely changed the film with reshots or the synapsis was completely inaccurate, but the film had nothing to do with six friends going to a forbidden part of town and exploring what they think is an abandoned fort.  Had they stuck with that idea, then at least they would have been covering familiar ground.  As it was, I think they tried to do too much with the film and ended up wasting a great location and a decent idea for a movie.  Poor acting and over acting did not help the cause.  I'd give it a 2, but becuase I liked the fort I'll bump it up a half a point.  2.5/5.   First and last watch
