Re: 30 Question Horror Movie Challenge

1- Your first Horror Movie?
I want to say Phantom of the Opera starring Lon Chaney, but it could also be the original King Kong.  I was six or seven years old, can't remember which I actually saw first.

2- The Last Horror Movie you saw in the Theatre?
My Bloody Valentine '09

3- Favourite Classic Horror Movie?
When I hear "classic" I think of the old Universal flicks; I'd say the original Frankenstein, or maybe The Invisible Man

4- A Horror movie you thought you would love but didn't.
Maniac.  After first reading about it in Tom Savini's first Grande Illusions book I couldn't wait to see it.  Turns out it was a piece of shit; lurid, sleazy and gross with no redeeming value and absolutely no point.

5- Favourite Horror remake?
The Fly '86

6- Favourite Vampire movie?
Martin (1977)

7- Favourite Zombie movie?
Dawn of the Dead (original, natch')

8- A Horror movie you think no one has seen?
Them Damn Zombies!

9- Favourite Supernatural/Ghost movie?
Toss up between The Sentinel (1977) and Carpenter's The Fog

10- Horror movie everyone loves but you don't.
Jaws.  Don't like it at all; I feel it's tedious and boring.

11- Favourite Horror comedy?
Return of the Living Dead, but Blood Diner's a close second

12- Your most disturbing film?
Kids.

13- Favourite Indie Horror movie?
Shatter Dead, though I'm also a big fan of Bloodletting (and not just because they used part of my review on the DVD big_smile )

14- Favourite Monster movie?
I'm drawing a blank.  For now I'll go with Godzilla vs Megalon

15- Favourite Werewolf movie?
An American Werewolf in London

16- Favourite 80s Horror movie?
Re-Animator

17- Favourite Horror Movie Filmed In Black & White?
Night of the Living Dead

18- Best use of Gore in a Horror movie?
Day of the Dead

19- Favourite Horror movie character?
Michael Myers

20- Favourite 70s Horror movie?
The Exorcist

21- Favourite Horror franchise?
Halloween (the first four, anyway)

22- Best death scene?
deep-fried head decapitation via broomstick, Blood Diner

23- A great quote from a Horror film.
"Be brave, Frank, God damn it!"

24- Favourite 'Holiday' Horror Movie?
Halloween

25- Horror Movie For A newbie?
Body Parts (1991).  An unextraordinary movie that would nevertheless give a genre newbie a pretty good idea of what to expect from the average horror flick, because it has all the staples; violence, gore, veteran genre actors and an interesting hook.  It's not so violent as to be off-putting to a genre newbie and not so out of the mainstream as to make them feel like they're treading into dangerous waters.  Just an all-around average horror flick.

26- Your Guilty Pleasure Horror Movie?
I don't have guilty pleasures; I like what I like and make no apologies for it. smile

27- Horror Film You'd Like To See Remade?
I don't care, so long as it's something mediocre which left lots of room for improvement.

28- Worst Horror Movie?
Mr. Irish.  You've never heard of it.  I wish I could say the same.

29- Favourite All Time Horror Movie?
Dawn of the Dead.  Halloween is a close second.

30- Why do you love Horror movies?
You may as well be asking me why I love having a heartbeat. wink
