Topic: Road Horror

DUEL, Joyride, Wheels of Terror, The Car, etc. I have always loved road horror movies. I'm wondering how much you guys like them?

Could we use another road horror film?

Sound off.

Re: Road Horror

Duel and Joyride both rocked. And what about Wolf Creek? There was more than enough car travel in the outback mixed with mayhem to clock that gem in as "Road Horror"

Yes, Wolf Creek can fall into that category easily. I liked that movie.

Re: Road Horror

Phantasm 2!  Does that count as road horror?  Loved it smile

Re: Road Horror

How about Christine and Maximum Overdrive? Or would those be considered more just 'evil car' flicks?

Being that cars are so well associated with roads, it's hard to differentiate. tongue

And CREATURE, I don't know if those would be considered road horror but they're still freaking awesome!

I think it would be a good idea for an indie horror film, there have only been a handful of these types of films over the past several decades. So even if it's not entirely original its still kinda fresh to the genre. Plus, minimal cast and and a wide open set makes for inexpensive filmmaking.

Re: Road Horror

I love Joyride

Re: Road Horror

Race With The devil (1975)-  Haven't watched it years, and have only seen it 3X, but a great "road" movie.

My first time watching it was as a kid, and satan worshipers scared the hell outta me knowing that there were really some of them freaks out there.
