Topic: Same Castle/Castle Scene. Two Different Movies.

Hello fellow Horror fans!

I am a huge CASTLE freak and in two of my  favorite old movies they have the exact same Castle and castle scene.

The Terror and The Pit And The Pendulum.

The first pic is from The Terror.

The second pic from The Pit And The Pendulum.

What I am trying to find out is if this is a real castle somewhere or just a made up scene.   I have searched online and found nothing. I am assuming at this point it is a fake....I would love for it to be real. lol  I LOVE the Castle high on the rocks right near the water!

Two different film directors for each film so they are not made by the same person.

THE TERROR PIC:

THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM PIC:

AND THE SAME SCENE IN BOTH FILMS- THE TOP OF THE CASTLE:

P.S. Could not use the IMG again so the pics SHOW in my post.  You have to click on them.

Re: Same Castle/Castle Scene. Two Different Movies.

In the beginning scenes of BOTH movies they ride up to the castle on a horse and this is the exact same scene in both.

Love both movies.  They have Vincent Price, Boris Karlof and Jack Nicholson in them.

Re: Same Castle/Castle Scene. Two Different Movies.

I love The Pit & The Pendulum and I'm also an insanely huge fan of castle as you probably know and I check loads of Castle picts everyday but I never seen one like that. Some location look alike but the architecture of the place is different so it's a good guess that it's a set piece.

BUT I might be totally wrong, I'm not god, I'm a Demon. lol

Re: Same Castle/Castle Scene. Two Different Movies.

Looks like you have a matte painting on the Carmel highlands section of Point Lobos, CA.

There's no castle there, but there are a bunch of inns-

The L'Auberge-

Two different film directors for each film so they are not made by the same person.

I think they are both directed by Roger Corman. Both good films too.

Re: Same Castle/Castle Scene. Two Different Movies.

This was a great find too!   Thanks azathoth!

This sure looks like the place where they filmed the movie!!

The "castle" will just have to stay REAL in my mind I guess. big_smile lol

Yes both films were directed by Roger Corman.
