Topic: New Canadian production "Holding God"

OK, I know the site rules on Spam
so I'll be up front.  I am a Producer for an Indepentant Canadian company,
Damn Good Entertainment (damngoodmovies.com).
Canadian productions have long been judged as crap,
mostly because you have to wait for film fund money to complete
the budget.  We have shot two films in LA for less than $500k US
with quite a few stars who just want to work.  ACTRA was surprised
that their "A" list performers would work in the TIP program in Toronto
just because it gets them exposure.

My question to you all is, if an independant Canadian company produced
a psyco thriller called "Holding God" with good cast and a good story, would
the Horror Fan world in Canada support this?  Our phlisophy is simple, if it's
a good story and we can find the market, we'll do it.

Holding God is one man's journey into Pergitory, it's a thinking mans thriller.
Production is slated to start in Toronto and the GTA in September....

Re: New Canadian production "Holding God"

I'm from Canada and yeah I support independent films. Many people here love indie horror films.
Sounds good to me, a psycho descending into hell...

Re: New Canadian production "Holding God"

I could care less what country a product is from.  Unfortunately many people dont support indie films, Canadian or other, but there is always a target market that will give you a chance.

Re: New Canadian production "Holding God"

There's only room for one Jim on this board.  Who's it gonna be?

Re: New Canadian production "Holding God"

I only stated I was from Canada cause he asked if Canada would support his film.
If it's a good film, it's a good film no matter what country it originates from cool

your post doesnt qualify as spam. In an effort to get us back on topic I would say that any good film regardless of WHERE It gets made will get the support of fans. Alot of the best horror films get made in Canada. Canada doesnt have a stigma for putting out crap films, the issue is that alot of horror filmmakers dont put enough thought into the films and well you know the rest.
