Glory

It's the first time I'm seeing it and I'm loving it so far.  For as big of a history buff and war movie buff as I am, I'm mad at myself for not seeing this one before.  Better late than never, I guess!

GUNLESS [2010]

Ah nothing like a good western. And man, Paul Gross is just great in this. I really loved the beginning, was funny. But the one that steals the show really is Siena Guillory, that girl is amazing. Pretty fun SINday night flick.

ALWAYS [1989] rewatch

I love planes so this one is perfect. Very touching story of a guy that dies in his plane explosion and has to form another pilot from the other world. His wife is slowly feeling he's there. Dreyfuss amazing, Holly Hunter extraordinary and Goodman hilarious like he always is. Pretty nice hour and a half.

ONE DEAD INDIAN [2006|

Cool police story with good enough cast. Not the best movie I've seen, far from it but still pretty enjoyable.

SPANGLISH [2004] rewatch

What a nice movie this is, always loved it and do the same everytime I see it. And man some incredibly funny moments, well of course, it's Adam Sandler. But the thing that made me laugh the most is when Tea Leoni [Deb] is having sex with her husband John played by Sandler. She goes insanely berserk. lol
Paz Vega is just fantastic like mad in what I think was her first american film. The mother is freaaking funny and the 2 little girls deliver an absolutely perfect performance. Funny, extremely touching and it makes you think a lot.

Re: Last Mainstream movie you watched.

Good Fellas.

Re: Last Mainstream movie you watched.

I'm glad to hear you liked Goodfellas, certainly one of my favorites! If you liked that, I recommend you watch not only Casino, but also Once Upon A Time in America.  It's almost 4 hours long so i'ts a journey getting through but you won't feel the time as it's that amazing.  Sergio Leone directed it, who of course did the Dollars trilogy with Eastwood and Once Upon A Time in the West.

Once Upon A Time in America has been on my list for a long time, so I definitely plan on taking advantage and checking it out on your VUDU. Sergio Leon's Once Upon A Time in the West I have yet to see, unfortunately, but I love The Dollars Trilogy. Classics!

Re: Last Mainstream movie you watched.

Once Upon A Time in the West is on Netflix Instant Streaming so you can peep it on my account or your aunts, but it's also certainly worth seeing.  The Dollars Trilogy should be mandatory viewing! Glad you've seen it and love it!

Wow 2 freaking amazing flicks. Just utterly amazing.

RED STATE [2011]

What a crazy ass priest this bad guy is. Just nuts. Makes me hate religion even more. Excellent acting. Goodman owns totally. Love this guy always marvellous. And damn man, what a crazy gun shot party. Woah.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER [2011]

Man, this is one of the best Super Hero movies I've ever seen. Everything is just so perfect. Rad Head's technology is wild. Strange to see these high speed train, planes and weapons that awesome in the 2nd WW. Woah And I love how Rodgers never let anything put him down. He went through a lot of stuff in his life and how he keeps being a very good hearted guy. The talk on the radio with the cute girl, his newfound right partner before he crashes is fucking way touching, I cried a lot. Brilliant flick. Tommy Lee Jones is just fantastic.

We've talked about Cap before, and I'm glad you finally got around to seeing the flick.  Cap's my favorite superhero, but that had no bearing on how much I enjoyed the movie.  Evans is just perfect as the character, even before he gets his new perfect body and what-not.  That's why Cap was always my favorite -- the never give up attitude, always doing the right thing, standing his ground even when the opposition was overwhelming.  Not to sound hyperbolic, but I learned more about how to be a man from reading Captain America as a kid than my own deadbeat dad ever could have even thought of teaching me. lol

H3LL yeah that movie is a blast. And Agent Smith/Schmidt Weaver is awesome. Still funny that he almost has the same name in the 2 movies. Yeah, Cap America is an extremely cool dude that thinks very well.

I prefer much more his look in this than in Avenger though.

Re: Last Mainstream movie you watched.

Yeah, I didn't like his costume in Avengers at all.  It made him look skinny and without the chinstrap it made it look like he had a double chin.  But the CA:TFA costume was pretty cool.  It looked like a flag-themed paratrooper outfit, complete with straps and buckles.  It just had a really cool, bad-ass retro look to it.

Re: Last Mainstream movie you watched.

^^^ Yet another great movie I love to death.  Saw it at the cinema opening weekend and thought, damn, who doesn't deserve an Oscar for that flick?  Glad Benecio won for Best Supporting, but really, it could have just as easily gone to Cheadle.  Just an all around great flick.
