Topic: 1930s horror

One of my favorites is Creature from the Black Lagoon but that was in the 1940s and is for another poll but out of this list "Frankenstein" takes it for me I loved that movie and the films that would follow by Hammer films.

Re: 1930s horror

Frankenstein, but the book is sooooo much more intense and moral/spiritual/layers are so well written.
We are reading Dracula in school, the characters are so rich and Dracula is portrayed as a dirt sleeping, evil smelling, blood sucking animal, That would be interesting to capture on film, leave the smarmy seduction of the vampire behind and go for the throat...lol did I just type that????

Re: 1930s horror

King Kong , then Dracula

Re: 1930s horror

Dracula is definately my number 1, but its followed closely by Dr Jeckel and Mr Hyde and the invisible man. the books were all alot better though

Re: 1930s horror

I chose Frankenstein.

However, I think the best of the 30's would have been the sequel, The Bride of Frankenstein.

Re: 1930s horror

King Kong by far!

Re: 1930s horror

I went with "Dracula".

Re: 1930s horror

I really liked "The Black Cat".

Re: 1930s horror

I choose The Black Cat first and Frankenstein second.

Re: 1930s horror
